VAPIK, which stands for Visual Authors, Producers and Interpreters of Kosovo – is an Association of Collective Administration of Copyright and Related Rights in the audio-visual field.

This association represents the visual authors, producers and performers in the territory of Republic of Kosovo and serves as ONE STOP SHOP, representing all Audio-Visual Right Holders and covers the whole spectrum of Audio-Visual Work. VAPIK is licensed by the Office for Copyright and Related Rights in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports based on Law no. 04 / L-065 on Copyright and Related Rights.

VAPIK operates as a Non-Profit Association according to Law no. 03 / L-134 On Freedom of Association in Non-Governmental Organizations in the Republic of Kosovo. The purpose of the Association is to protect and support authors, producers and performers; to protect and promote their interests and to administer their rights; to Collect, Manage and Distribute the revenue to authors, producers and performers, created by the use of copyrighted works and related rights in the audio-visual field.

VAPIK decisions are based on Article 65 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, based on Law Nr. 04 / L-065 on Copyright and Related Rights, based on Regulation nr.2013/02 of the Independent Media Commission, based on the Mandate that stems from permit no. 002-11712020 issued by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports on the 11/07/2012, on the Decision No.13/38 issued on the 30/10/2020 and based on the Statue and Regulation for the Distribution of Compensation.

As a result, all cable operators and other entities that retransmit copyrighted visual materials automatically fall under this Note and must comply and pay the copyright tariffs to VAPIK as per Decision No.13/38 issued on the 30/10/2020.
