VAPIK, which stands for Visual Authors, Producers and Interpreters of Kosovo – is an Association of Collective Management Organization of Copyright and Related Rights in the audio-visual field.

This association represents the visual authors, producers and performers in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo as ONE STOP SHOP, representing all Audio-Visual Right Holders and covers the whole spectrum of Audio-Visual Work. VAPIK is licensed by the Office for Copyright and Related Rights in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

VAPIK as an association was established according to Law No. 03/L-134 On Freedom of Association in Non-Governmental Organizations in the Republic of Kosovo and operates according to Law No. 06/L-043 on Freedom of Association in Non-Governmental Organizations. The purpose of the Association is to protect and support authors, producers and performers; to protect and promote their interests and to administer their rights; to Collect, Manage and Distribute the revenue to authors, producers and performers, created using copyrighted works and related rights in the audio-visual field.

VAPIK decisions are based and supported by Law No. 08/L-205 on Copyright and Related Rights, Law No. 06/L-043 on Freedom of Association in Non-Governmental Organizations, Permit no. 002-11712020 issued by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports on 11.07.2012, and based on the Statute and all internal regulations of VAPIK.

As a result, all cable operators and other entities retransmitting copyrighted audio-visual materials automatically fall under the domain of protection that VAPIK offers to rights holders and must respect and pay copyright fees to VAPIK according to Decision No. 13/38 issued on 30/10/2020 and agreements reached.
